A SALON in Padgate has scooped six prizes at the British Hair and Beauty Awards.

Kathryn Elizabeth Hair and Beauty picked up two gold, two silver and two bronze prizes in the annual contest, success that came after just under two years of the salon first opening on Padgate Lane.

The salon claimed the awards after going through a rigorous judging process and competing with hundreds of other entries from across the UK.

Manager Kathryn Walker said: “We are absolutely ecstatic about winning these awards.

“Considering we’ve not even been open for two years yet, we didn’t think we’d get anywhere close to winning.

“We were just lucky to be shortlisted – it’s such an amazing achievement and everyone at the salon is so ecstatic about it.”

Jennifer Clancy and Angelina Pearson-Hesketh were recipients of the two golds awards, with Jennifer winning Colourist of the Year and Angelina picking up Massage Therapist of the Year.

Meanwhile, Vivvy Chan came second place in the Aesthetics Salon of the Year award, while the salon’s team in general won silver in Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year and bronze prizes in Best Workplace Environment and Best New business 2019.

The business’ triumph came after three meticulous rounds of judging and shortlisting, part of which consisted of random checks and mystery visits from judges.

Kathryn added: “There are five judges, and they send out mystery shoppers or often people who actually come to have a treatment – it could literally be anyone.

“We’re a very normal salon – our customer service is great and we’re not the sort of salon where people come in and feel uneasy.

“We take great pride in ourselves, in that people always feel very comfortable coming here – it’s this type of service that gets us so much repeat business.

“We’re just so excited for the future now – hopefully winning these six awards will get us quite a bit more business.”
