NURSERY children have been surprised with a letter from the Queen after they created a book for the birth of her great grandson.
Members of Croft Tiny Acorns, which is part of Croft Primary School, decided to write and illustrate a book and send it to the Queen after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby Archie was born.
A letter, written by the Queen's Lady-In-Waiting, was delivered to the school and read: "The Queen wished me to thank you very much for your message of congratulations on the birth of her newest great grandson, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
"It was also kind of you to enclose a little book you have created called Mrs Mouse and the Cheese.
"Her Majesty was touched you sent her this gift."
Anne Mains, head teacher at the Mustard Lane school, added: "The children were very excited and amazed to receive such a special letter, and we are so very proud."
