PLANS to extend a Burtonwood care home could create 25 new jobs if they are approved.

The development would also see 32 new en-suite bedrooms added to Rosevilla Residential Home on Penkford Lane.

Included in the designs are a number of new communal living and dining areas and an increase in the number of car parking spaces.

According to planning documents, the extension would create an additional 15 full time roles and 10 part time roles at the home.

They also state: “Much research has gone into how the design of buildings can influence the life of those suffering from dementia.”

The fully accessible new floor plan will be ‘flooded’ with natural light, which helps to naturally set the body clock of residents.

Long hospital-type corridors have been avoided and have been instead replaced with routes where ‘a view to the external is always possible’.

The main communal rooms will again have views through to the courtyard, ‘encouraging residents to interact with nature’.

New staff areas and modernised kitchen facilities will also see improved care for the residents.

The planning design and access statement states: “Rosevilla Residential Home has been a long-established part of the community for over 30 years, providing exemplary care to those in need.

"The proposed extension would allow much needed additional bed spaces within the borough, as well as continuing to improve the existing facilities.”
