FIGHTING broke out on the pitch as Warrington Town lost their promotion decider this afternoon.

Punches were thrown as fans from both teams invaded the pitch during the Yellows’ clash with King’s Lynn Town at Cantilever Park.

And trouble flared again after the full-time whistle.

Tempers flared after King’s Lynn’s extra time winner secured a 3-2 victory, sealing promotion to the National League North.

Several away fans invaded the pitch and were seen to gesture towards the Warrington Town support, a number of whom also then invaded the pitch.

Punches were thrown in the ensuing melee.

More fighting was seen after the game as fans made their way out of the stadium, with a man being hit in the face with a traffic cone.
