COUNCIL officers are ramping up their preparations ahead of the European Parliament elections.
The elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 23 but uncertainty has surrounded whether the UK will take part due to Brexit.
The council says it is confident it will be able to get everything organised in time, with 128 polling stations scheduled to be open in Warrington.
A spokesman added: “Officers are meeting weekly to prepare for the prospect of European parliamentary elections.”
The authority also said it expects all potential election expenses to be funded by Government.
