Liam Watts has been charged in connection with cyber attacks on Cheshire Police's and Greater Manchester Police's websites.
A SUSPECTED hacker has been charged after a cyber attack on Cheshire Police’s website.
The force’s site was down a number of hours on Friday, March 22, after a deliberate denial of service (DDoS) attack from a third party.
Greater Manchester Police’s website was also targeted.
And a teenager from Lancashire has since been charged in relation to the attacks.
Liam Watts, from Chorley, is charged with two counts of unauthorised acts with intent to impair the operation of or prevent and hinder access to a computer.
The 19-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Chester Magistrates Court to face these charges today, Thursday.
