A TEENAGER with an 'unenviable' criminal record has been sent to prison after assaulting two men outside Voodoo Bar in the town centre and breaching his suspended sentence.
On February 4, Taylor was convicted of possessing a bladed article in a public place, affray and destruction of a property after breaking into a house in St Elphin's Close in Howley.
The court heard how Taylor knocked on the front door and asked to be let in, although he did not know the occupiers.
When they refused, he left but then returned and asked if he could charge his phone.
Paul Blasebery, prosecuting, told the Liverpool Crown Court: "The couple did not let him in and so Taylor smashed a window and the top part of the door before breaking entry.
"He shouted 'I want all of your money' and brandished a 'large combat knife'.
"The defendant then told a woman, 'Come with me or I will cut you up'."
Taylor was sentenced to a 12-month sentence suspended for two years but his assault outside Voodoo just weeks later breached this.
Declan Taylor, of Marsh House Lane, appeared via video link at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.
The court heard how Taylor assaulted two men outside Voodoo Bar on Friars Gate.

CCTV picked him up and he was later arrested.
The 19-year-old has 21 previous convictions for 41 offences, dating back to January 2015. These include criminal damage, assault and affray.
Sean Batterton, defending, said: "This young man has an unenviable record and he lost control of himself when released from prison on remand.
"He explained that he had 'gate fever' from being in prison and was bored.
"Taylor fully admitted to the assault in police interview and has been using his time in prison constructively.
"He told me he is 'sick and tired' of being in and out of prison and wants to sort his life out."
Judge Stuart Driver sentenced Taylor to 13 months in prison.
