THERE was plenty of sadness at the news Dawsons is closing after more than 100 years.
The music store first opened in Warrington in 1898 but has announced it is to shut its Sankey Street shop.

Dawsons Music was set up in the town by piano tuner John Dawson who opened the shop to cater for growing demand from people wanting to buy new instruments.
The sign to the right of the shop shows it was selling pianos, violins and music and was also doing repairs.
Dawsons says its shops in Manchester and Chester will remain open as will its online sales.
The Altrincham shop is also set to close.
