A MAN has died after being hit by a train travelling through Warrington West station on Saturday evening.
British Transport Police and paramedics attended the scene, near to Sankey for Penketh station, but the man was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "At approximately 8.30pm on March 2, officers were called to Warrington West station after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family have been informed.
"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
