THE first steelwork at the new Chapelford Medical Centre has appeared.

Work started before Christmas on £2.7 million project and now the first physical signs of work are visible.

NHS chiefs are expecting the state-of-the-art facility to open in late summer 2019.

GP services in the area are currently being served from a portable unit on Burtonwood Road.

Meanwhile the other major construction in the area, a new train station, is also going ahead.
