DOZENS of bikers escorted a fellow motorcyclist during his final ride in a fitting send-off to the ‘gentle giant’.
Paul Weaver, from Latchford, was killed after he was involved in a crash while riding his motorbike in Widnes earlier this month.
But on Tuesday, February 27, the 59-year-old biker took one final ride - being escorted by nearly 100 fellow motorcyclists on the way to his funeral.
A huge procession followed Paul’s hearse from his sister’s home in Orford through the town to Walton Lea Crematorium yesterday afternoon.
Tributes were being to a man who was ‘kind, loving and full of fun’ in the wake of his death.
In a statement, Paul’s family said: "Whether you knew Paul for four years or 40 years, he grabbed a piece of your heart by being just what he was - a gentle giant who was kind, loving and full of fun.
“He was a bit crazy, but that's what made him unique and it is unbelievable that he has been taken from us so tragically and suddenly.

“The world is now a darker place without him, and our family gatherings will not be the same - especially for the little ones who gravitated to Paul because he was just a big kid himself, and we all loved him.
“Rest in peace Paul, and ride high amongst the stars.”
