TRAINS between Warrington and Liverpool have been cancelled and delayed this morning due to a broken rail track.
The broken rail at Sankey for Penketh station has caused disruption between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street.
Services have been cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes and diverted since around 8.30am.
East Midlands Trains and Northern Rail services are among those affected, with rail replacement buses in place.
Northern Rail customers may also use their tickets on East Midlands services.
It is hoped that services will resume as normal at around 11am.
