SIR Thomas Boteler Church of England High School in Latchford has a budding photographer in their midst – and he's just 14 years old.

Year nine pupil Jonah Holland won the school’s 2017 Christmas card photography competition, where students submitted photographs they had taken to be used as the image on the school Christmas card.

Jonah’s image of St Elphin's Church impressed the judges and they picked him as the winner.

This year, to encourage Jonah’s skill with the camera, graphic designer Alice Roberts and head of art Sam Joice commissioned Jonah to take the photo to be used on the school’s 2018 card.

Jonah was busy taking photographs in various churches, in Warrington and further afield, going lengths to capture an array of images.

The photograph that was chosen was taken at All Saints’ Church in Daresbury.

Alice Roberts said: “Jonah has a good eye for detail and has captured a brilliant composition with great lighting; it really is a super photo.

"Jonah could go far with his photography. Congratulations Jonah –and thank you!”

Jonah has also been presented with a pack of his own cards.
