A NURSERY business held its own party to mark being named Warrington Business of the Year.

Dunkey's Day Nurseries received the prestigious award at the Warrington Business Awards in the summer and its director, Siobhan McCarrol also bagged Business Woman of the Year.

The Warrington chain opened the doors to its fifth nursery in Jackson Avenue, Culcheth, in September.

This joined other nurseries in Old Liverpool Road in Sankey Bridges, Barrow Hall Lane in Great Sankey, Mather Avenue in Runcorn and Greenoaks Way in Widnes.

In recognition of its achievements, Dunky’s Day Nurseries hosted an awards celebration of its own at The Manna house in Penketh.

Jane Mclean, senior manager, said: "Leigh the events manager did an amazing job organising the event and the food was served in the form of a winter barbecue by Snoutwood Trotters.

"The Beard Band entertained us and got all staff to let their hair down and dance the night away.

"Callum Morgan and Danny Hudson from the Warrington Business Awards were invited to attend and to present the awards to the whole staff team.

"The awards were absolutely stunning and had been individually designed by students from Priestly College.

"It was overwhelming to hear how Dunky's had won the judge's vote."

High praise was given to the company director, Siobhan McCarroll, along with the company vision, individual approach to family's needs and a commitment to use trades and employ people from the area.
