A DRIVER is appealing for witnesses to come forward following a crash on the Cockhedge roundabout.

Trish Flanagan was driving around the busy junction in the town centre with a six-year-old nephew in the car yesterday, Thursday, when she was involved in a crash.

She said: "I was coming round the roundabout towards Lidl from the Winwick Road side.

"I was in the outside lane when the woman in a Mercedes Benz cut across from the inside lane colliding into the driver's side of my vehicle.

"I got out and said she needs to stay where she is.

"She said 'my satnav told me to turn left, let’s go to Cockhedge centre and talk'.

"I said I’m calling the police and dialled 999.

"With that she reversed her car almost colliding into a blur car behind her and sped off up Manchester Road towards Sainsbury’s."

Both Trish and her nephew were taken to Warrington Hospital after suffering whiplash.

Trish has since urged any witnesses to come forward after the crash caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to her car.
