A WOMAN who lost more than two stone while still enjoying the food and drink that she loves is set to launch a new Slimming World group in Winwick.

Emma Greatbanks, 25, hopes to help others achieve their weight loss goals as part of the new club at Winwick Leisure Centre.

She said: “Before being introduced to Slimming World I felt sluggish and I didn’t want to go out as I could never find anything nice to wear.

“The turning point for me was realising I was the heaviest I had been putting me in the overweight category for my BMI which meant becoming more at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and even heart disease – this was horrifying.

“My stepmum had been raving about how she had been eating lots of gorgeous and filling food and losing weight.

“I had to find out how so I joined my nearest Slimming World group and was greeted with a warm welcome and no judgement.”

Emma quickly discovered that she could achieve her dream weight.

“As the pounds melted away I found myself having to buy smaller clothes which felt amazing as it gave me the confidence I needed to socialise more,” she said.

“My energy levels soared and I even took up running and joined the gym something I would have never dreamed of doing before.

“After being at my target weight for over a year I thought it was time to help and inspire other people achieve their weight loss dreams.”

The group will hold its first session on October 31 with regular meetings every Wednesday from 5pm and 7pm.
