DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Orford.
The alarm was raised at 10.10pm last night, Thursday, after the shop assistant at the Local Express Shop on Concorde Place was attacked by a man.
He demanded money from the till before assaulting another member of staff.
Both store assistants managed to leave the shop and the man walked away in the direction of Grasmere Avenue.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
Detective Constable Michael McDermott, of Warrington CID, said: “As part of my enquiries I am urging anyone who may have seen the incident take place or has any information to come forward and call police on 101.”
