HELP mark the centenary of the end of the First World War during a special concert at the Parr Hall in November.

Tickets are now on sale for the Festival of Remembrance, Celebration and Peace 2018, being staged by Warrington Male Voice Choir on Saturday, November 3, starting at 7pm.

Warrington Male Voice Choir created the idea of a Warrington evening to remember and honour the fallen to mark the centenary of the First World War and, as a result, the Festival of Remembrance has been staged annually since 2014.

However, this year’s event, while still remembering the fallen, will also recognise and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the peace that followed.

The evening will feature Warrington Male Voice Choir, The Combined Bands of The Lancashire Artillery and The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Service Cadet contingents, a Drumhead Service of Remembrance and Reflection led by The Revd Canon Paul Wilson and audience sing-along.

In a move to further strengthen the involvement of young people, the choir of Great Sankey High School and Barrow Hall College will be taking part for the first time.

The evening will help raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2018 and Combat Stress.

Tickets are £10 (Under 16s are £5) and can be bought by calling 442345, visiting pyramidparrhall.com or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office.
