BLUEPRINTS to build a health and fitness centre on a vacant plot of land neighbouring The Skymaster pub on the Gemini Retail Park have been approved.
The plans for the site on Apollo Park were submitted to the council by Leyland-based ASAT Ventures earlier this year.
The proposal includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a yoga studio and a food and drinks area.
There will also be a gym, an aerobics studio, indoor and outdoor spa, treatment rooms, saunas, outdoor training area and sun deck.
The plans also include parking for 194 cars of which 11 will be accessible spaces adjacent to the entrance and secure cycle parking for up to 20 bicycles will be located on the eastern side.
It is proposed that there will be 40 full-time and 20 part-time staff while the opening hours will be Monday to Friday 6.30am to 11pm and Saturday to Sunday 8am to 9pm.
