A WOMAN has been ordered to pay compensation after she was caught on CCTV stealing flowers from a couple’s front garden.
Armed with a trowel and plastic bag, Leokadia Kaniecka stole potted plants and a hanging basket from the front garden of the property on Battersby Lane on the evening of Sunday, May 13.
On Thursday, July 5, the 58-year-old admitted theft in relation to the incident at Warrington Magistrates Court.
Kaniecka, of nearby Hardy Street, was ordered to pay compensation of £75 and subjected to an eight-week electronically-monitored curfew from 7pm to 7am.
She was also ordered to undergo a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 10 days.
Green-fingered Cheshire Police officers later returned to the property and replanted some of the stolen flowers they had recovered.
