AMAZON is encouraging charities across Warrington to sign up for a new scheme so they can benefit from donations.

Each time customers shop at smile.amazon.co.uk, Amazon, which has a base in Great Sankey will donate a percentage of the net purchase price for millions of eligible products at no additional cost to customers or charities.

If charities sign up to AmazonSmile they can benefit from triple the charity donations from until Friday, June 29.

6,000 UK charities are already participating in AmazonSmile, including RSPCA, Cancer Research UK, The British Red Cross and The Royal British Legion, with all eligible registered UK charities invited to take part.

Until next Friday, June 29, Amazon will be tripling its donation rate for qualifying purchases made by shoppers using AmazonSmile.

Customers who shop at smile.amazon.co.uk can choose a charity to support before they start shopping and that charity will receive donations from Amazon at no additional cost to the customer or charity.

Jan Lakotta, EU manager of AmazonSmile, said: "We launched smile.amazon.co.uk in November 2017 and now with more than 6,000 national and local charities available, everyone should be able to find a good cause close to their heart.

Customers can learn more and begin supporting their favourite charity at smile.amazon.co.uk, and charities can learn more and register to accept donations at org.amazon.co.uk.
