WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid took time out to visit Stockton Heath's Slug and Lettuce to see behind the scenes of its recent refurbishment.
The MP was introduced to the front and back of house team, learning about the Stonegate's apprenticeships and careers in management.
Emily Thornley, general manager, said: "It was great to meet with Faisal and show how we have worked to keep Victoria Square buzzing.
"Keeping up with food and drink trends while providing a safe and welcoming environment is what keeps customers visiting pubs and driving the economy."
Area manager Andy Palfreyman was also on hand to give Mr Rashid a guided tour of the renovation, which was completed in March.
He said: "We appreciate Faisal visiting Slug & Lettuce Stockton Heath to see the renovation and to meet the team. This investment forms part of our annual £50 million spend developing our pubs across the country providing enhanced community facilities, creating jobs and careers for people of all ages.
"Hospitality is an important business sector generating significant income for government and we are pleased that our MP recognises the importance of British pubs and bars."
