VANDALS have targeted a pregnancy advice centre for the second time in two weeks.
Graffiti reading ‘not NHS’ has been scrawled on the shutters of One-to-One Midwives on Sankey Street in the town centre, as well as on the pavement outside.
The free-to-use pregnancy centre – which is commissioned and funded by the NHS – was targeted on Tuesday, May 15, having previously fallen victim to vandalism on Sunday, May 6.
On that occasion, louts also kicked the shutter in – causing the centre’s window to become chipped.
Cheshire Police have been informed about both incidents.
Midwife Lorna Gerrish said: “Our midwives work so hard to provide such a good service and these people are trying to give us a bad name and saying we’re something that we’re not.
“We are commissioned and funded by the NHS, so it’s obviously been done by someone who doesn’t know a lot about what we do.
“Our women are happy with the service they receive, and we work with the NHS and not against them.”
