CHARLIE, Bella and Poppy are the most popular pet names for 2017, according to data.
New additions to Pets at Home’s VIP Club were surveyed with popular culture having a significant effect on what Brits name their pets.
Following the birth of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s daughter, Luna makes the list for the first time as the third most popular name for cats.
Meanwhile 2016 Disney release Finding Dory propelled the renowned name into the list alongside the ongoing sensation of Nemo.
The list also highlights the influence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as SpongeBob Squarepants’ Fred the Fish.
Gavin Hawthorn, from the company, said: “It’s interesting to see that just as popular culture and famous faces influence what parents name their children, likewise, these trends can help British pet owners select a name for an animal companion.”
