CAMPAIGNERS from Warrington Animal Rights stormed a shop in the town centre to protest over the sale of Canada Goose clothing.
Five members of the group descended on Tessuti in Golden Square Shopping Centre on Saturday at 12.30pm chanting 'Canada Goose is animal abuse'.
Jake Jordan, from the campaign, said: "We did it mainly as a way to raise awareness.
"A lot of people were looking towards us and hopefully these people will go home and research the reasons why we were protesting."
Canada Goose, which makes luxury winter clothing, has faced criticism for producing parka jackets allegedly using a trim made from coyote fur.
Animal rights group PETA claim that the animals are caught in the wild in steel traps and are then shot or bludgeoned to death while geese, whose feathers are used in the company’s jackets, are mistreated.
A spokesman from JD Sports on behalf of Tessuti said: "We work with all of our suppliers to ensure their supply chains comply with our ethical values as a business.
"As our customers are at the centre of what we do, we take any concerns raised through the appropriate channels into consideration when assessing our business relationships."
