LEARNER motorists spent more than £100,000 on failed driving tests in the town last year according to new statistics.
Figures by the Car People showed that during the eight-month period between April 2016 and December 2016 a total of 3,230 people took their test at the Warrington centre, based at Orford Community Hub.
A pass rate of 48.3 per cent compares similarly to the UK average of 48 per cent, with £103,540 spent on failed tests at the Festival Avenue centre.
Men were more likely to pass their test then women, with males having a pass rate of 53.3 per cent compared to 44.1 per cent for females.
Meanwhile, a Freedom of Information request by the Warrington Guardian has revealed that the highest number of times a candidate has taken their test at the Warrington centre is 20.
