THE funeral of a Warrington Wolves super fan who died on his way to a match will take place next week.
Mike Naylor died after collapsing in the Looking Glass on Buttermarket Street, hours before he was set to board a coach to watch the Wire play at Castleford Tigers.
The 52-year-old had followed the club for 38 years, and fellow supporters paid tribute to the Padgate resident with a rousing 52nd minute round of applause during Saturday’ Challenge Cup Quarter Final with Wigan Warriors.
Mike’s brother Paul said that the family was ‘overwhelmed’ by the tribute and messages of support from fans.
His funeral will take place at Walton Lea Crematorium on Tuesday, June 27, at 2.20pm.
Those attending the service are encouraged to wear Warrington Wolves shirts.
