THIS is the heart-stopping moment a member of the public spotted what she believed to be two teenagers climbing on top of the railway bridge on Folly Lane in Bewsey.

The panicked woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, immediately called the emergency services yesterday, Thursday, at 8.30pm as she feared the worst.

She said: "I rang 999 around 8.30pm after spotting what I thought were teenagers standing on the top of the train bridge.

"They were messing around like this for around 10 minutes.

"They then got down and headed towards Bewsey."

While it is not clear if those involved are teenagers or adults, the 35-year-old has shared the photo in hope of shocking any parents into action.

She said: "I posted the photo on Facebook to make their parents aware of what was happening.

"But a number of passers-by commented that it was not teenagers but they were in fact fully-grown women in their 30s who do not speak English.

"Either way their stupidity could have killed someone or themselves.

"I just want to warn parents to talk to their kids and explain how dangerous this is.

"These girls and women are not the first people we have seen doing silly things on the wall of the bridge – but usually it is kids."

The photo has since been handed to officers at Cheshire Constabulary.

The force has confirmed that shortly before 8.45pm, police were called to reports of two people on a railway bridge on Folly Lane.

Officers attended the scene and made a full search of the area but there was no trace of those involved.

No further reports have been received.
