WARRINGTON Hospital has been awarded £1 million to help ease pressure on the accident and emergency department next winter.
The Government made the announcement on Friday as part of a package of funding across the country.
Warrington South MP David Mowat said: “I am delighted that Warrington Hospital has received this additional allocation, one of the highest in the country. The money will be used to ease pressure on our incredibly busy A and E department.
“The Government is able to find this money because we have an economy which is growing and we need strong, stable leadership to make sure that this continues.”
The funding will be used by hospitals to meet the 95% standard of admitting, transferring, or discharging patients within four hours.
