THREE teenagers suspected of setting fire to a derelict Indian restaurant in Longbarn have been detained by police this morning.
Two 13-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy, from Warrington, were arrested today, Wednesday, as part of the force's investigation into the cause of the blaze at the Bayleaf last Tuesday, March 28.
All three suspects were arrested on suspicion of arson and were taken into custody to be questioned.
Police have confirmed the three teens were also arrested in connection with a burglary at Beamont Collegiate Academy on Long Lane on March 2.
Firefighters battled for hours to extinguish the fire after it engulfed the building on Harpers Road, which was formerly the Longbarn Social Club and Smithy’s pub.
The building has since been demolished for health and safety reasons. More here.
