WITH the ongoing transformation of Bridge Street and the market area, we are looking at the work to change Warrington town centre in the 1970s.
The introduction of Golden Square Shopping Centre saw a massive regeneration of the whole area.
Sankey Street and Market Gate became pedestrianised during the construction which saw the shopping centre built.
It meant Warrington had a very different landscape to the one we see today.
Although many buildings such as the Natwest and Holy Trinity Church remain.
