FOLLOWING our appeal for your pictures of unusual birds and animals in Warrington, we received a range of spectacular and also very funny submissions.
And while we do not have proof that giraffes or baboons have been spotted in Walton Gardens yet, there is evidence that the town is home to a diverse range of wildlife.
Sparrowhawks, herons and kestrels have all been photographed by eagle-eyed readers.
Paul Grimmett, of the north Cheshire RSPB group, said: “Bird numbers have varied recently especially with the milder winters.
“Over the past 10 or so days Warrington has had an influx of Waxwings. It's reported that there was a flock of 70 plus of these rare winter visitors. They were to be found on Milner Street along with Redwings and Fieldfares. These last two birds are again winter visitors.”
