BUS passengers will now have more live information at their fingertips.
Warrington Borough Council’s Real Time Passenger Information system has gone live, promising electronic displays at 51 bus stops.
These show scheduled departures for the next five services due with ‘countdown’ information to arrival when the bus is detected as being en route. GPS is on most of the town’s buses.
Bus users will also be able to get real time information via apps and websites for the more than 1,300 stops across the borough.
The majority of buses that operate within the Borough have been equipped with GPS technology to enable reliable predictions of actual arrivals at all stops to be made available.
Cllr Hans Mundry, executive board member for, said: “Our new Real Time Passenger Information system will provide passengers with valuable information to help make their journeys easier.
“The investment made by the Council on this system shows how seriously we take sustainable transport and hope this will makes it easier for people to use our bus service network.”
