A MAN has been detained after detectives launched an investigation into a raid at a post office in Orford.
The suspect is expected to appear in court today, Monday, after being arrested on suspicion of robbery on Poplars Avenue on Saturday, January 7, at 6.10am.
Detectives investigating the attack reported how a man cycled to the premises before raiding the post office.
He threatened a member of staff while armed with a handgun.
It has not been confirmed whether the gun was real or an imitation.
The same suspect has also been charged with an aggravated burglary on January 19 after a man entered an address in Orford with a knife which he held to the victim’s throat before making off with cash.
