PENKETH and Old Hall Angling Society is holding its annual family fun day on Sunday, June 24, at The Maltings Pub in Old Hall.

The event, from 11am at Bewsey Farm Close, off Old Hall Road, supports the society's efforts throughout the year.

This includes six summer matches that are free for junior members to enter, food and refreshment, transport, free entry to an October presentation night and free tackle.

Paul Bryan, group secretary, said: "We will once again take over' the car park area for the day with our events!

"We have approximately 200 members with 50 to 60 being juniors. The money raised at this event goes towards supporting our junior anglers to give them the best opportunities within the sport."

The day will boast gladiators' duels, maggot racing, beat the goalie', bouncy castle, bash the rat', barbecue, tombola, raffles and music.
