THE council has acted to remove a shopping trolley full of waste which was dumped on a Howley street.
After coming across the rubbish on St Peter's Way last Tuesday, Cllr Kevin Bennett (TUSC – Fairfield and Howley) alerted the authority to the matter and called for action.
A council spokesman confirmed it has been removed but was been unable to confirm which firm owned the trolley.
The council's policy is to store abandoned shopping trolleys, inform the owners and charge them storage and collection fees.
