THERE is plenty to celebrate at Winwick Primary after the school was presented with another award for its services.
The school on Myddleton Lane has been selected as the winner of the Josephine Butler schools prize and has been awarded £2,000 to buy books and learning material from the cathedral shop.
Josephine Butler has been hailed as one of the most revolutionary social reformers of the nineteenth century and worked tirelessly for disadvantage people.
After a college in Liverpool which was set up in her memory was closed, the proceeds were used to set up the Josephine Butler Memorial Trust.
The income from the trust is used to award grants to projects which reflect the aims and ideals of Josephine Butler.
