A BRAND new cheerleading squad has been formed as part of Warrington Wolves’ new era and they’re on the lookout for new dancers.
The Wirettes will be running out at the Halliwell Jones Stadium for the 2016 as the club undergoes a major rebrand, and they will be auditioning for new dancers on October 31.
The cheerleaders made their Wolves debut at the club's recent member day in Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Leader Sam Wood, 29, has plenty of cheerleading experience having been part of the Starlights group in their Wilderspool Stadium days.
She said: “It’s something I used to do as part of the Starlights years ago and I’m really looking forward to it – it’s a fantastic opportunity.
“The girls will have a proper dance kit and it’ll be a mix of dances – they will be used at event as well.
“I’ve seen out Wilderspool and seen in the Halliwell Jones Stadium – I’ve seen the old and the new.
“It was fun, we went for tea with everybody and the crowd got behind you and got to know your face.”
