STAFF at the Birch Court nursing home grabbed their hiking boots and set out into the cold on Saturday to take part in a charity walk.
Seven staff, aged between 24 and 63, took on the 12 mile challenge from Birch Court in Padgate to Lymm Dam and back again and raised more than £250.
Money raised will be donated to Brook House, a unit at Birch Court which specialises in caring for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other related diseases.
Patsy Lineker, a staff member at the unit who helped to organise the event, said: “You don’t realise how far it actually is until you do it. It was very tiring but we managed it.”
