COMEDIAN John Bishop is in town tomorrow, Thursday .... but don't be offended if he doesn't give you a wave.

A statue of the funny man will be on display in the Golden Square as part of Comic Relief's first ever collection of donation statues.

Ten different celebrities will be on display in cities across the country with shoppers invited to tap their card on the pocket of the larger-than-life characters to donate £1 to Comic Relief using Barclays contactless technology.

Donors are then being called on to snap a celebrity selfie with the statue to share with friends using #RNDStatues.

Ten celebrities are involved in the fundraiser who have all donated their time and talent to Red Nose Day over the years including Lenny Henry, who will be in a shopping centre in Dudley, and Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) who will be in Norwich.
