PENKETH councillors are hoping a 30ft Christmas tree near Honiton Way shops will spread enough Christmas cheer to encourage residents to join in with a community carol service.
Taking place at the Penketh Youth Centre, Honiton Way on Saturday from 5.30pm, a Christmas card has been sent to every local household this week with a personal invite to the event.
Cllr Linda Dirir said: "I'm delighted with the response we have had so far from local residents but also from local businesses and organisations.
"Wherever we have asked for help doors have been wide open with Christmas spirit and I have to give a big thank you to our partners.
"These events are all about bringing our community together as one."
