Marie Curie Cancer Care is offering people in the area the chance to keep their new year's resolution and grab places for the North West's most popular short running event - the BUPA Great Manchester Run.

The ever popular race has already filled but Marie Curie Cancer Care have a number of special guaranteed entry places for the Bupa Great Manchester Run and are appealing to people to snap them up. This year's event, which sees tens of thousands of people being cheered through the streets of Manchester, takes place on 20th May.

Jemma Halman, local fundraiser said: "If you fancy joining tens of thousands of people pouring through the heart of Manchester, then the Great Manchester Run is for you. At 10km it's still a big challenge, but you've got until May into peak condition. The Great Manchester Run is such a special event to take part in and an amazing achievement to say you've done it, particularly as you'll be helping the Marie Curie Nurses to give free one-to-one care to terminally ill people in the area. These special places will go fast so get in touch NOW and we'll help you get a place."

Jemma explained: "We have a very limited number of these special places, but they are open to anyone who is willing to take on the challenge and raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. If you failed to get a place through the ballot you can still apply for a guaranteed place with us. Joining the Marie Curie Daffodil team gives you a running vest, full fundraising support and your very own cheering squad on the day! Just call us for an application pack on 0161 255 2809 or 07787 574 837!"
