BEAUTIFUL and uplifting songs from an African choir moved a church congregation to tears.
Hundreds packed into The Church of the Resurrection and St Bridget's in Cinnamon Brow to hear Watoto Children's Choir sing stories about Uganda.
"A lot of people in the audience were crying," said co-organiser, Bill Hogan.
"People said afterwards they would remember it for the rest of their lives."
The choir - 18 children and four adults - are travelling the country as part of their World tour to help Ugandan orphans.
The distance between their previous venue in Barrow and the next in Congleton meant spending an extra night performing in Warrington.
"People immediately welcomed them into their homes," Mr Hogan, of Keith Close, Oakwood, added.
"We didn't even have to ask."
Primary schools St Bridget's and Cinnamon Brow CE also hosted the choir in between concerts, which featured gospel and African songs in English and Swahili as well as a moving documentary.
Voluntary collections at the end showed just how compassionate and moved the congregation was, Mr Hogan revealed.
"The concert support team were absolutely brilliant as well," he said.
