A GREENALLS employee accused of starting the £40,000 distillery fire has appeared in court.
Norman Guest, aged 55, of Worsley Road, Walton, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday in connection with the fire which destroyed the company.
Guest, dressed in a suit, has pleaded not guilty to destroying a product hall and warehouse on the Loushers Lane site in the blaze on October 15 2005.
He is also charged with recklessly endangering the lives of fire-fighters and the neighbouring community.
The trial is due to start at Knutsford Crown Court on February 12.
