SIX explorer scouts from Warrington West District scaled new heights in their mission to raise enough cash to attend next year’s World Scout Jamboree in Japan.
The intrepid group climbed the equivalent of Mount Fuji, Japan’s tallest peak, at North West Face climbing centre on Winwick Road to raise close to £1,000 towards their individual costs of £3,000.
Youngsters Tom Jeffries, Will Black, Tom Cowie, Rachel Sheridan-Warburton, Lewis Higgins and Sarah Jackson completed their challenge in three hours after scaling the wall 315 times, the equivalent of 12,389 ft.
Family and friends of the group said they were very proud of the team’s mammoth efforts.
