STAFF and pupils waved a fond farwell to a teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School.
Bernie Hallman, a teacher at the Selby Street school in Whitecross for 19 years, retired on Friday.
During her time there she has taught all year groups, even her own children.
The school marked her career with events including a mass with the school choir, a buffet and special assembly.
Head teacher Colleen Everett said: “We will miss Bernie very much as she has been a part of Sacred Heart School for many years.
“We are truly thankful for all her hard work and dedication ensuring that all of the hundreds of children she has taught over the years have been cared for, not only educationally, but emotionally and spiritually.”
