WARRINGTON'S Imagine8 netball team won a national competition in July.

The team, who are based at Penketh High School, defeated Swindon side Purley 53-39 to lift the inaugural England Netball Challenge Cup Plate in Bath.

Imagine8 only led 21-20 after the second period but, aided by some tactical changes by ex-county coach Sue Day, they got to grips with their opponents' play and eased to victory.

Imagine8 had eased past Surrey outfit Cobham 36-26 in the semi finals after travelling up and down the country to win matches in the earlier rounds.

The team also won the Warrington Netball League Premiership during 2006 and were invited to join the new England Netball Northern League, made up of the best 10 teams in the northern region.
