HIGH flyers at Specsavers Opticians in Sale went to new heights for charity - they reached 14,000 feet sky diving to raise money for Vision Aid Overseas.
Dispensing optician Julie Heaney and customer service advisor Claire Atherton raised £1,500 from their daredevil jump over Morecambe Bay. Store director Stuart Totten ran a charity prize draw in the Market Walk shop.
Vision Aid Overseas operates the largest specs recycling scheme in the UK. Glasses are collected, sorted, graded and packed then taken overseas by teams of volunteers who screen the patients and dispense the glasses, helping thousands of patients every year.
Julie said: "Claire and I really enjoyed the jump, despite being pretty nervous beforehand! This is just the start of our appeal though, so we're asking our generous customers to carry on bringing their old or unwanted spectacles into our store and help give sight to more people overseas."
Anyone who would like to donate old or unwanted specs to Vision Aid Overseas can do so at Specsavers Opticians in Sale on Market Walk, Town Square.
