WARRINGTON Lions Club showed the true meaning of festive spirit this Christmas.
Syd Walker, president of the Warrington Lions, visited the children's charity NCH at its headquarters in Westbrook to donate presents collected by club members to help ensure children in the area enjoyed their Christmas celebrations.
And fundraisers from the regional office of the charity distributed the gifts to vulnerable children and their families in the lead up to the big day.
Gill Smith, NCH fundraising manager, said: "We are delighted the Lions thought of NCH when they were collecting children's toys from their members this Christmas. The projects we run in this area, including the Butterfly Project, were over the moon to receive these presents as it meant they could help families make this Christmas extra special. By simply buying a couple of extra gifts while out shopping to help local families, the Lions Club members have helped demonstrate the true meaning of Christmas. Their generosity is fantastic and we really appreciate their support of NCH and the work we do."
NCH is one of the UK's leading children's charities.
It works in partnership to run nearly 500 services for more than 160,000 of the UK's most vulnerable children, young people and their families. For more information, visit nch.org.uk
