CUTS to education will hit pupils from areas of social deprivation, claims Helen Jones, Warrington North MP.
It has been revealed that there are 640 students, who are aged 18, studying in further education institutions in Warrington with 247 coming from deprived areas.
Mrs Jones said her parliamentary questions show that Government plans to reduce funding for 18 year olds in further education will hit areas where it will hurt the most.
She added: “According to the Government’s own figures more than one third of the 18 year olds studying in F.E. in Warrington come from areas of social deprivation.
“The answers to my parliamentary questions make it clear that the government are hitting those in most need.”
